Elaine Briggs is an ANCC certified Family Nurse Practitioner and past Certified Emergency Nurse with experience in primary care and family practice. Additionally, she has performed assessments for Veterans with disabilities, practiced in University Student Health, and in Women's Health. Her most recent experience is in telemedicine providing urgent care, family practice, psychiatric care, and substance abuse counseling. Elaine strongly believes in giving back to her profession and is a virtual professor, educating nurse practitioners across the United States for Chamberlain University (Downers Grove, Illinois), Maryville University (St. Louis, Missouri), and Indiana Wesleyan (Marion, Indiana).
Elaine is originally from Waterloo, Illinois, where she began her nursing career in 1979 as a Licensed Practical Nurse in home care and long-term care. She received her Associate Degree in Nursing through East Central College, followed by a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) at Lincoln University. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) as a Family Nurse Practitioner / Nurse Educator from St. Louis University and completed her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) through Capella University.
